Overview

Sudhagad is a hill fort having origins from 2nd century BC. In 1436, it was captured by the Brahmani Sultan which was taken over by the Marathas in 1657. Sudhagad was considered as the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's kingdom. The fort has ruins of Shiva temple and a huge plateau that has two lakes, a house, a big granary, some tombs, a shrine and numerous other ruins scattered over the fort area. From the top, other forts namely Sarasgad, Korigad, Ghangad and Taila-Baila are clearly visible.

Itinerary

11:00 pm : Leave from Mumbai via non AC private bus

03:00 am : Reach Pali (base village) 

03.30 am : Start with uphill trek 

06:00 am : Reach at top and wait for sunrise

08:00 am : Start downward trek

10.00 am : Reach the base village. Have breakfast and leave for Mumbai

01.00 pm : Reach Mumbai
