Sondai is a small but beautiful trek situated in the Matheran range. It is more of a watch tower than a fort. It derives its name from a local deity Sondai devi. One can get a view of Morbe dam reservoir, Irshalgad, Matheran hills and Garbett plateau from the top. Sondewadi is the base village for this trek.

Asherigad is a hill fort located around 100 km from Mumbai in Palghar district. It was built by Bhojraj of Shilahar Dynasty about 800 years back (13th century). Later, the Portuguese rebuilt this fort after they captured it during their rule. In 1737, Peshwas won this fort during their campaign of the Konkan and in 1818 this fort came under the British rule. The trail initially moves through dense forest and later opens up to a rocky patch. There is a ladder which can be used to navigate through this part. There are water tanks and a small temple at the top. Rest of the fort lies in ruins.

Harishchandragad is one of the best high forts near Mumbai, Maharashtra. Strong fortifications of this fort have multiple entry routes such as the Junnar gate route, Sadhale ghat, Nalichi waat and Indore waat. The carvings on the temples of Nageshwar in Khireshwar village, in the Harishchandreshwar temple and in the cave of Kedareshwar indicate that the fort belongs to the medieval period since it is related to Shaiva, Shakta or Naath. Later the fort was under the control of Moghuls. The Marathas captured it in 1747. Visapur Fort (also called Visapoor Fort) is a hill fort near Visapur village in Maharashtra, India. Marking its prominence from the 18th century, this fort forms a part of the fortification of Visapur and Lohagad.  It is located in Pune district, 5 to 6 km from Malavli Railway station out of which 3 km is steep road. Sudhagad is a hill fort having origins from 2nd century BC. In 1436, it was captured by the Brahmani Sultan which was taken over by the Marathas in 1657. Sudhagad was considered as the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's kingdom. The fort has ruins of Shiva temple and a huge plateau that has two lakes, a house, a big granary, some tombs, a shrine and numerous other ruins scattered over the fort area.
